Pediatric Sleep Consultant Core Program
Program Overview
Pediatric Sleep Consultants (also known as Child Sleep Consultants, Baby Sleep Consultants, Baby Sleep Coaches, and Infant Sleep Coaches) are people with various backgrounds who help families struggling with behavioral childhood sleep problems. They are good listeners with solid communication skills and they are passionate about helping others.
Families turn to the Child Sleep Consultant for a wide range of sleep issues - frequent night wakings, short naps, early morning wakings, resisting falling asleep, nightmares, moving to a separate room, and many others. Sleep consultants help children achieve healthy sleep and advise parents on how to solve various behavioral sleep problems.
Although pediatric sleep consultants are not medical providers, pediatricians often refer families to them when children need some type of individualized sleep coaching. These consultants fill the need for educated professionals who can solve most behavioral sleep problems with children.
Career Paths
Millions of families need support and guidance to help their children sleep better. Our program will help you learn all the skills you need to become a successful Pediatric Sleep Consultant.
Are you looking for a new career? Or maybe a part-time role for extra income? Our program is created for everyone. We teach in clear, accessible language so you can start working with families with confidence.
A certification in Pediatric Sleep Consulting is also suitable for professionals who have a background in related fields, such as midwives, nurses, lactation consultants, child care professionals, preschool teachers and child psychologists. Our program helps these professionals learn more about child sleep and new ways to solve behavioral sleep problems in children. This way they can offer better support to their patients or clients.
Program Duration
This is a self-paced distance learning program. You can take all of the classes from the comfort of your home.
It typically takes about 3 months to complete the program if you study 6 - 8 hours per week.
This certification is not an online badge or a certificate you can get in a hurry. The Pediatric Sleep Consultant Core Program certificate tells parents that you have completed a program based on credible, ethical practices and methods.
Expected Income
The average price for a single 90-minute consultation ranges from $200 to $500, depending on the consultant's experience and location.
Online consulting with follow-up calls (for 1 family) costs between $800 and $1,500. It can include:
- Sleep consultation: a 90-minute virtual call
- Personalized sleep plan - it takes about 2 hours to create the plan
- 4 weeks (on average) of Q&A support (virtual via FB Messenger / Snapchat / WhatsApp/ Viber) - 10-20 mins per day answering additional questions or adapting the personalised sleep plan according to the child’s needs.
How much should you charge as a consultant? How many families can you help per month? This is your business and it will be your decision to make.

Assessments and Constructive Feedback
Practical Exercises
Our program includes many practical exercises based on real situations. Students work on the same kind of problems that sleep consultants solve when they work with families. They analyze the situation, think about what the family needs and write their recommendations. These exercises help students use what they have learned.
Case Study Exams
Students also work on case study exams. Each exam presents a real situation - a family with a child who has a specific sleep problem. Students must assess the situation, create a sleep plan and explain their recommendations - just like they would with a real client. After every exam, teachers read the work carefully and write individual feedback. They explain what was done well, what could be better and why.
Feedback From Teachers
Your progress matters to us. Students receive individual feedback after every case study exam. Teachers explain their reasoning, point out strengths and show where students can improve. This is how our students grow as professionals - by doing the work and hearing honest, personal feedback every time.
